You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
The large man would sit himself down on the cushion, his neck craning to get inside the tent. "How do you know of me?" He'd ask in a menacing voice, unafraid of the mysterious woman. "I'm Guntar," the brute continued "Hailing from a village in the north, I took care of ships for some time before deciding to come south in hopes of joining a mercenary force. I had spoken to an old friend prior to my leave, and he told me of some Adrian duchy." The wind would blow as droplets of rain started getting inside the tent, interrupting Guntar and wetting his back. He gets up and buttons up the flaps, then turns and asks the old woman, "How do you live in such a place?". After a short but awkward pause, Guntar pulls a map out of his jacket and opens it. He then asks the woman, "Do you think you can point me in the right direction?"

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: I'd avoid powergaming by not doing things that are out of the range of what my character could perform. An example would be if Guntar was asked to lift a boulder out of the way, then he wouldn't be able to.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming disrupts fair roleplay by giving unfair advantages to me. An example would be if I saw a forum post showing me the location of an artifact that people were going to, and showed up. I don't know in roleplay where the artifact is, and I wouldn't be able to go to it in roleplay.
