You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Still keeping her tribal-like mask on, her eyes darted around the tent's dirty interior and lets out a deep breath of fatigue before noticing the different coloured candles that is suspended around the small campfire. Blue, green, and a third one that had a murky pink with black blotches, akin to the second candle. The Hag gifted her a warm cup of tea which Vidha cautiously accepted with both hands and sipped on the warm beverage, taking in its bitter flavor that lingering on her tastebuds. Her heavy eyelids fluttered before she lets her mind and words flow from her throat.
"What I say may be mindboggling to you folks, but a story wouldn't hurt... Ever heard of Kara?" Vidha lets out a shallow huff from her lungs, faintly remembering her time from the land that became a fuzzy memory, or a distant dream that she was ripped away from. Eyeing the green and murky pink candles that had its flames snuffed out by the Hag, she continued her story once more after she took a sip once more to refresh her dry throat.
"Great place with abundant crops, people, stories and... chaos, the good kind though." Shifting her left hand to fiddle with the dull, blue opal that hung around her neck reminded her of the 'deal' with the demon she views as. The Hag in front of her took note of Vidha's passive-aggressive behavior as she listened to her side of the story. Now the tea in the cracked porcelain cup all gone, Vidha realized that she overstayed her welcome under the Hag's roof (or tent she should say) and stood up to dust her outfit, not forgetting to bid her quick goodbye before leaving the tent to continue her journey guided by her heart's soulless content.
"May you live a fufilling life in this world..." The had whispered as she watches Vidha disappear under the blackened sky and shifted her somber gaze to the blue candle burning brightly, despite its short length.
