You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Ah, greetings, venerable one. My presence in this dank and dark town is not of my own choosing, but rather, a sick twist of fate that has led me here. I am but a humble high elf wanderer of these lands, seeking knowledge and wisdom, where ever it may hide.
As you knew of my arrival, I am intrigued. Pray tell, wise seer, what really is my purpose here? What hidden forces have you arranged to guide my swift steps to this oddly lit tent?
The high elf takes his seat, and fixes his eyes upon the hag, curiosity piqued, as he is awaiting her response.
The old hag leans forward, her eyes glittering with aged wisdom, and speaks in a rustling voice.
"You, dear traveler, are destined for great importance in this world. You are going to be known as the greatest explorer of all one day. To make this possible, you must dig deep, and be ready to lose, before you gain. It is even possible, that you may lose all that you have ever loved. Are, you Drottfreed, ready to embark on this journey that may test you to the bitter end?"
The elf responds
"Indeed, wise one. I have sensed that I may have a greater importance to this world, but have never been sure the path. Nevertheless, I am willing to do what it takes, and follow the path that fate itself may lay before me. I am prepared to possibly lose everything, in order to gain much knowledge, and become famed as the best explorer in the lands. Please, share more knowledge with me, that I may be prepared for my quest. If I want to keep the things I love, you may have to guide me, and be my candle in the darkness.
