Gerhard seemed to be a lad born in the cold lands of Hanseti-Ruska, in the city of Karosgrad to two loving parents. His parents raised him in the ways of the Canon Church and how a proper man should act according to the laws of the Creator. 

The proffession of his father was being a local blacksmith who would supply the town with horseshoes and nails. His father took Gerhard under his wing as a blacksmith's apprentice, and so he learned how to make items from materials provided. 

In his teenage years that was all he did, help his father around the forge while his mother back home taught him how to read and write. During these times he began to develop his fear of public speaking, as one incident preludes this condition. He walked down the streets from his home to their smithy, which was only a few feet away. The kid who was in his early teens didn't seem to look around and walked into a Prince of the house Barbanov. He fell flat on his butt as he looked up, a raging Barbanov was shouting in his face for running into him. After the incident he walked back home and cried to his mother.

When his father found out this happened He took Gerhard to the square and made him appologize to the Barnabov Prince.. but all he could was stutter and shy away as his father held on to him. 

Eventually he grew a disdain from his father and started selling his crafted items to harness a little bit of a gold horde so he could afford a way out of the city. He kept his frame right and stayed around for his mother's sake, but when she passed away naturally He sold his stuff and left the city. He would be on his way to Providence, the Capital of the Holy Orenian Empire to find his new fortune!
