Elwo

Talison was born into an immigrant Farfolk family in the city of Helena that is ruled by the Holy Orenian Empire. He had both of his parents and an older brother. His mother collected herbs for the local alchemist and was helping him a bit in his laboratory. His father was a smith apprentice most of his life. He was strong and tall so later he enlisted as a soldier in the town’s garrison. He died during a small skirmish just outside the city walls leaving Talison without a father figure when he was 8 years old. His brother Nantos was 10 years older than Talison, so when the father died he felt obligated to provide for the family. Nantos left to the neighboring city in search of a better job to help out his mother and brother. Life was hard since then because about a year later there was no word from Nantos. Talison was left alone with the slowly aging mother that couldn’t afford any education for her son.

When Talison reached the age of 12 he was a skinny and cowardly boy that was constantly bullied and beaten by his peers because his amber eyes were giving away his Farfolk origin. That thought him to run from the danger when it appeared. He also learned quickly to speak the right worlds in the right ears and was able to convince often older boys to stand in his defence. That made him cocky but he had trust in his new abilities. Nevertheless it was a difficult time for Talison, so he often sought help in the faith of The Church of the Canon. He attended ceremonies and shared beliefs when he had downfalls.

Couple of years later, when Talison was slowly coming of age in his society, he mastered his ‘golden tounge’ ability and made couple of friends, many of which were bullies from the past. Following his mother footsteps he learned to distinguish diffrent kinds of herbs, and he also became the alchemists apprentice. That made him a recognizable man among the lower class citizens. They often seeked his help when they couldn’t afford the alchemists services. That business on the side caught the attention of the imperial law and he was quickly caught. He was saved by the reputation of being kind and selfless, as well as being too young to be treated harshly for his unawareness.

Talison was pardoned by the judge  but forbidden to provide alchemist’s services on his own. He couldn’t decide if he should leave town and start again somewhere else with the skills he already had or stay at home and learn new skills to stay at Helena and care for his mother. Either way his story has just begun.
