You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"I started my life like any goblin" I snort and wait for a moment "No, really, I'm nothing special".
The woman takes a second to absorb my words, then asks "Surely there is something defining about your character".
"No" I state but she persists.
"I think you're just too lazy to tell me anything, I can see it written on your face. An extreme boredom I've only seen on the faces of full-time scholars, you are aware this doesn't give a very good look, aren't you? like, in all honesty-" Her words struggle to catch my ears's ire before they relent and shrink into undecipherably muffled wails of disapproval. 10 minutes later I'm still sitting there, waiting and nodding, not like there's anything else I can do in this situation? While she's too deep in her scolding to notice, I take the effort to make a minor withdrawal of a coin purse that so happened to be laying on the chair next to me, like I had done to many before.
