You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Example: "Hmm." Roman's voice is rough and has a slight growl to it. Roman looks upon the old crone with his single observant eye. He easily towers over the hag with his large stature. Curious as to how this random crone recognizes him, he examines his surroundings carefully. "Tell me, what is your purpose here young one?" the hag inquires. "I lack the purpose you speak of." The woman stares at him as if silently asking for him to continue. "I am a wandering sword. Seeking a place that one may call 'home'." "What you are seeking young one is belonging. A place where you are wanted..." The old crone smiles knowingly at the man. A shiver shoots up Roman's spine. Scowling at the crone, Roman stands prepared to leave. "Choose your friends wisely young one, for you may very well fall upon your own sword." Roman walks out of the tent, the words of the crone lingering in the depths of his mind...

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Personally, I avoid powergaming by first, making a character that's well balanced, for instance, they could have some phenomenal strengths in the right situation, but in turn, they have glaring weaknesses to others. Secondly, I try my best to make a character that is sensible, as in, I don't make characters that can "attack on sight because that's what they would do".
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming disrupts fair roleplay because, it gives your character an unfair advantage from knowledge that YOU learned, but not your character.
