You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Nikolai would raise his eyebrow as he eyed the woman, but after a few seconds he shrugged his shoulders as he opened his mouth to speak, "It's nothing of legends, but if you want to hear why I'm here I might as well bore you with the story." He then walked to the cushion, sitting down on it as he stretched one leg out, closing his eyes as his head moved to look up at the ceiling before going back down as he began to speak once more, "I was born far away from this area to two parents who would be considered.. average at best, at least towards me. I wasn't the only child they had that day, my twin, my brother was also born and he was seen as the more ideal child. The first few years we were treated equal however as we got older it was obvious they considered him their true child while I was seen as, to put it simply, trash. Even with how they treated me I still wished for their love and attention, did I everything that was in my power to try to get them to look at me the way they looked at him, but once I had turned 15 I realized I would never be like him in their eyes."
Nikolai then took a second as he looked to the floor, but then he looked back up as he grinned at the old hag, obviously no regret was in his mind as he began to speak once more, "So I came up with a plan, I knew I could never be him so I chose to be myself. I ran away from home once I had turned 16 years old, I stole my parents most valuable objects to get myself through the following years, however when the gold I had gotten from those ran out I found a group of thieves. I told them about my parents wealth and they took me along with the raid against them. Things however went south when my father heard the noise we were making and he came down to see what was happening and began attacking. Most of the groups members ran, however my father grabbed me and began fighting me, telling me how ashamed he was that I was his own son. He pulled out a knife as I did my best to avoid it, however he ended up slashing over my right eye, but after that had happened I got the upper hand, grabbing his wrist and taking the knife from him, using it to then stab him in the chest. After that I ran out of the house and became a thief in the land around my old home. Eventually I was able to steal the armor I wear in front of you and I chose to come to this land due to the amount of people that were after me in my area." Nikolai would then sigh as he crossed his arms, staring at the old hag again. "So, that's my story, what do you think about it? As I said it's nothing too massive."

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: You avoid powergaming in roleplay by making your character and emotes more down to earth and realistic. You also can put into your emotes "tries to hit" or "attempts to grab" that way, even without rolling, the emotes and fights can be fair until one person is beaten.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming disrupts fair roleplay by causing the persons character to not act like how they normally would. It also gives them an unfair advantage and possibly can ruin plotlines set up by players or even staff because the person metagaming would be able to rush through the plot.
