The swampy, dim town seemed to emanate an aura of desolation as Maeven Nightcloud cautiously made her way through its labyrinth of shacks and cabins. The smell of rotted wood and wet moss permeated the air, clinging to her senses like a shroud. It was an unfamiliar and foreboding place, yet Maeven pressed on, her determination unwavering despite the oppressive atmosphere.

As she surveyed her surroundings, Maeven's attention was drawn to a tattered tent illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. Intrigued by the flickering light, she ducked inside, finding herself face to face with an old hag who regarded her with a knowing gaze.

"What brings you to this dingy town?" the old hag began, her voice raspy yet strangely soothing. But before Maeven could respond, the hag paused, her eyes narrowing as she studied Maeven's face.

"It's you. I've been expecting you," the hag declared, her words sending a shiver down Maeven's spine. Perplexed by the hag's cryptic statement, Maeven hesitated for a moment before cautiously taking a seat on a nearby cushion, her curiosity piqued.

As the hag gestured for her to begin, Maeven took a deep breath, preparing to recount her tale. She spoke of her origins as a wood elf, born beneath the canopy of a dense forest, her golden eyes reflecting the wisdom of the ancient trees. She spoke of her wanderings through the realms of Aevos, guided by whispers on the wind and the tales of those she encountered.

But it was her family that had shaped her journey the most. Maeven spoke of her parents, wise and kind-hearted wood elves who had instilled in her a love for adventure and a thirst for knowledge. Their teachings had guided her through the trials and tribulations of her travels, and their unwavering support had given her the strength to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
