You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"My story?" I pace my mind for not why I'm passing through but where I've been before heeding her hospitality. "The erosion of my people has seen fit of the stars to guide me back to them from ruinous isolation." My eyes draw solemn to hers, almost looking guilty, but with contempt of the reality for what I have just spoken.

Backstory:
A brief pause stipends Beskhet's thoughts before he continues on to speak through the welcoming air. "I am Born from the Rah'mun continent of Kemet-taw, having taken duties as a warrior priest for Hesthor and Keb. It was a monotonous life of 'maintaining purity' & 'earth shaping', that is until the Pharaoh found me recently. From a perspective of lifelong loyalty as a priest, I decided to accompany the Pharaoh on this return trip. My duties as a priest are in prayers to assist warriors during battles, or in aid to maintain temples religiously." For a moment Beskhet's gaze turns to the hanging candles, and their warm glow reminds him of core yet distant memories from his childhood. "I have a kopesh that my father forged before mine own birth, but never do I have the need to draw upon it." The blade's signature mandible silhouette hides aside the shadows of a tightly bound journeyman's pack amidst the dim atmosphere, of which carries naught else but vitals for travel. "And my mother, she had always held that I should '...maintain purity for all.' Something I was consumed by without a second thought of it's wisdom.. There was never any time for much else than priesthood duties, so the onset of those whom are more free of mind has provoked a long overdue departure." As a final rebukement to the way of life long lived, Beskhet exhales a steady relief for his resolute decision to depart from what he's always known.
