You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Thanks *sits down* I grew up in a small village in the middle of nowhere, until that is, we got attacked by some armored bandits. *looks down with a sad expression* Most of the villagers were killed and the rest fled away. I was only able to make it because my parents put me on a horse and sent me off. while i was riding i fell off and was knocked out by the fall. A few days later, i think, i was found by a farmer and his wife, they took me in and taught me farming. While i was helping the farmer in town i saw the leader and i recgonized him as the bandit leader, so when i got back i started train in combat. about 5 years ago i killed the leader and be came a fugitve. i never stayed in one place for too long until i got a invite from a kingdom that will provide me protection. *pulls out dagger and stares at it for a bit before speaking again.* i hope to never use this again but if it comes to it i will not heasitate. *stands up* thank you for listening. *leaves

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: In a battle i try to have someone who will spectate the fight to prevent powergaming, which allows fairness in battles (as fair as you can get). If the person does not stop powergaming then staff. I try to limit myself to realistic combat styles and reflexes, nothing like the top athletes or best chess players (for quick thinking)
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: it gives an unfair advantage because if someone knows everything about you then they can easily defeat you in a battle or they can share your character's secrets to other players. in general it ruins the fun of roleplaying.
