You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Keryk takes a moment to marvel at the floating candles around the tent before finally coming to his senses and starts making his way toward the cushion. "Well ma'am, I'm afraid there really isn't much of a story to tell." He sits down on the cushion and continues, "I'm Keryk, but feel free to call me Kerry, Ker, whatever you feel," he says with a smile and an outstretched arm, inviting a handshake. "But as I said there really isn't much of a story to tell. That's pretty much why I'm travelling in the first place. To at the very least start writing my story." Keryk leans back on his arm while sitting.
"All my life I've heard tale of mighty warriors, legendary heroes, and explorers who've seen sights I'm not even sure I believe, and the longer I thought about it, the more I felt like a runt in a big cage, y'know? I compared myself to those stories and found myself lacking to say the least. That's when I decided I wanna explore all of Almaris. I want to see Human Kingdoms, Elven Kingdoms, Dwarven, Orcish, I wanna experience it all for myself! This world has such sights to see and I can't wait to see it all! And I know I don't exactly look the type to even fair in so much as a tavern brawl, but I'll learn! I'll.. I'll work my way up so I can become someone... become someone Ma and Pa can be proud of..."
Keryk grows embarrassed and stops himself before his rant grows longer, shrinks back down in his seat and quickly tries to switch the topic. "B-but for now I think I'd just like to find some work. Something that I can do to earn some Minas and get a good foundation going," Keryk nervously chuckles. "Well uh, sorry 'bout this. You kindly invite me into your dwellings and I talk your ear off... but um, thanks for listening. Anyway, I should be off." Keryk stands and exits the tent before quickly turning around, pulling one of the entrance flaps, allowing him to peek inside. "Oh, um quick question. Any chance you could point me in the direction of the Cloud Temple?"
