You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Ava Edeskanter was raised in a tiny, tightly-knit neighborhood in the center of a lovely valley. She was always the first to discover the adjacent forests, scale the highest trees, and plunge into the glistening river as a little youngster. She started up a discussion with her closest buddy, Jake, one lovely afternoon as they were playing by the riverbank. Hey, Ava! Jake remarked with a sneaky grin. Have you ever pondered what is on the other side of our valley? There is a vast world beyond that is just begging to be discovered. Ava's eyes sparkled with anticipation. "Jake, I think about that often. Imagine the locations we could go and the people we could meet!" He felt a calming touch on his shoulder from Ava. "Our families adore us and will sympathize with our desire for adventure. We'll exercise caution and watch out for one another in case of danger. Ava and Jake left the valley with the encouragement of their family and the blessing of the village elders. In a lively market town where they first stopped, they encountered an elderly trader by the name of Ezra. He gave them a farewell present and some sage counsel. Ezra handed Ava a finely carved necklace and stated, "As you travel, remember to show kindness and learn from everyone you meet." Then she went on and sailed off to the realm on Lord of the Craft.
