You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
*Hanz ducks into the tattered tent looking confused* “Hallo? Where am I?” *Hanz’s eyes dart back and forth as he takes in his surroundings* “I seem to have lost meine Gattin. Do you know where she could be?” *Hanz takes a seat cautiously eyeing the hag* “mein apologies. Mein name ist Hanz. I'm 31 years old… I don't really know where I came from. All I know or remember more of is waking up in what seemed to be in a bedroll under a tent smelling of sulfur with a strange blonde fräulein standing over me wiping my forehead with a towel. Anything before that ehh.. I can't really remember much. That woman's name is Adelaide. She has taken care of me for a while now and we eventually got verheiratet and have been for 4 years now. Gott ist sie eine Heilige, even after I “Accidentally” blew up her last tavern she still loves me. We seem to have separated in the swamp though and now I can't find her. Um, can du help me find meine Gattin?”

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: I would use phrasing like "Hanz attempts to stab '' instead of "Hanz stabs Devin killing him" and other phrasing to ensure that other players have an attempt to respond/react rather than giving them a chance to react.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming is unfair to roleplay due to the fact that you in the real world may know something but it does not mean that your character would, and if your character just instantly became aware without doing anything to earn said information it is basically cheating and ruins the fun for other players. If you in real life had information about an attack but your character was not informed you attacked the other players so they could not attack you would ruin the surprise and fun for everyone involved.
