    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is when a character knows things they simply cannot know, because the person who plays the character does know these things. It includes things such as; knowing when someone is betraying the character, knowing when someone is lying, and on it goes.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: I know powergaming as ‘godplay’ it’s when a character defines the universe around them in unrealistic ways. For example; when a character decides how someone else responds to them, or when a character preforms unrealistic actions, wich would be impossible.

You’ve just stepped off of the boat in the port of a massive and fortified city. Before you lies a sprawling bazaar, with numerous shops, stalls, and seated traders selling wares to folk of all walks of life. Just as you’re about to continue walking onwards, into the market, you’re approached by a well-dressed gentleman who looks upon you with a big smile. “Welcome!” He began. “What brings you to this lovely city? Adventure? Wealth? Or some grand aspirations to elevate your place in society?”
How do you respond?

 

Beren glances at the man, taking in his physique and clothing, before frowning at the question, ‘‘Why should you care?’’ He then retorts at the stranger, ‘‘Don’t you have anything better to do instead of questioning strangers?’’
