You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
They would hesitate for a brief moment, confused and a little put off by this new environment. They then sat, asking the hag "You said you've been expecting me?" The hag waved off the question. "That is not important. You must tell me your story." They then shuffle in the cushion, attempting to put the pieces together. They then looked at ease, starting their story. "As a child I was a peasant, my parents farmers doing their hardest to provide enough food for the three of us. I was, how old? I believe I was either 13 or 14 when I was in the nearby town delivering eggs to my father's stall when a man, I don't remember what he looked like, offered me a deal. I would gain a large sum of money if I were to in return sing him a song. Being desperate as my family was, I sang the only song I knew- A lullaby my mum sang me to sleep with. The man was very pleased with my performance, so much so he offered me a job. I would travel with him to the kings' castle where I would perform for him for a large sum of money. I was told my parents would be compensated as well. I of course accepted, and I was given the job as a buffoon. I entertained and in return was paid. I don't believe I ever got word from my parents, and truth be told I don't think a penny went to them. As to how I got here, I do not know. Last I knew I was being taken down a river to perform at a new land. But that is my story."

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: I would avoid powergaming by allowing my characters to have flaws that can be exploited, and also overpower stuff is a no go. When it comes to other people power gaming, I would probably just tell them that they are powergaming, and if they continue I'd ignore them and maybe get a mod involved.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: It allows characters to know information they probably shouldn't, and can lead to unfair practices either intentionally or not.
