You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Oh, Hello. I am glad I was able to find you so quickly.
*I walk into the tent and take my rain soaked cloak off, showing my snake tattoos. I sit down across from the woman, and gratefully take the cup of tea she offers me.*
As you know I am in dire need of your potion skills. My brother is incredibly ill and the local doctors where I'm from have been of no use. I have travelled quite a long way and brought a considerable amount of money if you are willing to help me. My parents are too old and frail to make the journey with me, so they sent me alone.
old hag, "Tell me more about your family and upbringing."
I look down at my teacup, pondering my next words carefully.*
Well, I grew up very poor in the forest with my older brother and adoptive human mothers. They cared very much about me and made sure that I grew up to be successful. They named me Ker-Athri because on the night of my birth, I had a snake come into my crib and protect me from a thief who wanted to steal me. Ever since that night I always had a special relationship with snakes.
*I pause for a moment to recollect my thoughts.*
I know I said I grew up very poor, but after lots of hard work and my brother becoming a leader in our community, we were able to bring my family out of poverty. My brother is my entire world, please tell me you have something to help him get better.
