You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
She looked around the ramshackled tent and eyed the woman wearily. "I'm looking for a place to stay tonight."
The hag stared at her, unblinking, waiting for her to continue.
"I, uh.. my house burned down and i'm trying to reunite with my aunt and uncle across the kingdom. Could you give me the fastest directions to [town (not sure what they're called in this server)]? I can pay."
She reached into her pocket and supplied four gold coins. The majority of her wealth was in her sack slung across her back but she didn't want the old hag to know she had more than a few coins to her name. After the fire, Bella grabbed all the gold and silver she could grab and shoved it in her sack along with her father's ring and her mother's shawl. She knew the fire was set intentionally and someone would be coming back to check the bodies when the embers died. Her family was comfortable, by no means the richest in town, so she didn't know who would want to kill her family. Either way, she had no interest in finding out.
She shook the gold coins at the woman impatiently, "Well? Are you going to help me or not?"
