    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: You use out of Game knowledge within the game: You are told about an attack upon your home or something of the like so you get on the server, rush over to help protect your home, but in game you would have no idea the attack was happening
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: basically abuse of power or having the ability to use too much power to overcome intended outcomes: Gerald a blacksmith but has emoted that he has been given the title of king of blacksmiths and declares that all other blacksmith shops are to be closed forever and only his is allowed to operate, therefore forcing an emote upon others and therefore powergaming.

As Fredrik walked down the gang plank of the ship he smelled the delicious aroma of the many food stalls, the glimmering gold in the stalls all around him. He then noticed a man walking towards him with a large smile. As the clearly wealthy man approached Fredrik straitened his jacket and made sure he presentable. "My name is Fredrik Oakenspine and I happen to be here looking for the local library as I am to rebind some books for them that have fallen into disrepair, could you by chance point me in the direction of the library sir?" As the man points in the direction of the library Fredrik nods his thanks and shakes the man's hand and heads off in the direction pointed out to him by the man.

  • Your Metagaming and Powergaming definitions are correct in essence, however they need to be explained in more detail - consider adding an example. Our Wiki has lots of information on these terms to help you correct this!
  • In order for your character to be associated with an existing roleplay family, I need you to get permission from the leader of the house. If you already have this, please send it to me - otherwise consider developing this through roleplay, rather than detailing this in your application.   • Your Roleplay Scenario Response just needs a few small tweaks. On LOTC, we roleplay in third person - using emotes and speech in that point of view. Be careful with divulging inner thought within your emote, as it is typical to only describe words and actions - what the other players may see your character doing and/or saying, rather than their inner thoughts. Here's an example scenario response I've written to the prompt supplied in the application:
    • Mary stepped off the boat, eagerly eyeing the world around her. She walked through the bustling markets, carefully manoeuvring in order to avoid the gaze of those merchants about. When the gentleman would approach her, she offered a timid smile in return. "I suppose - well, I suppose I'm not sure. Adventure calls me, and something inside of me prompted me to board that boat, and wind up here." She spoke earnestly.

The Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska

The Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska, known as the Kingdom of Haense or simply Haense (New Marian: Haenz; Raevir: Henzij), is a centralized, united monarchy composed of two crowns, Hanseti and Ruska, and ruled by a single individual known as the king. Highlanders make up the majority of the population of Haense (especially Haeseni, but also Batavians, Raevir, and Norlanders) and the state claims to be the "Realm of All Highlanders''. Its current capital is Karosgrad, one of the largest human cities in Almaris, which is situated in the south of the kingdom and surrounded by the Haeseni lowlands. Excluding the dense urban area of the capital, the rest of the nation is mostly rural with its denizens spread out across the forests and highlands.

The Kingdom of Norland

The Kingdom of Norland is an absolute monarchy ruled by a single individual known as the king. Highlanders comprise the majority of the population of Norland (specifically Norlanders) and the King claims to be 'Protector of the Highlanders'. Varhelm is the current capital of the Kingdom of Norland, which is located along the great northern mountains of Almaris. There are two primary Jarldoms which swear fidelity to the King of Norland, Luemont and Elysium. The Red Faith finds its home in the Kingdom of Norland as both the most practiced religion of the region and the official state religion, with the largest Hearth Temple standing next to the great Keep of Varhelm

Sutica, a nation relying on trade and freedom. You'll always find trade here with the many shops spread throughout the city. Sutica won't tax unless in times of danger or a project of the nation lacks funding. Great architecture all about, the coastal city filled with secrets such as the sewers!

The Talus Grove

The Druidic Order is a tropical oasis situated along the coast of the Painted Archipelago on the South Coast of Almaris. Boasting a grand library it serves as a place to teach budding Druids, as well as a base of operations from which the Druids uphold their vigil over nature.
