You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
*Ned, clearly unnerved, sits "Well, there's not much of a story to tell, er, Ma'am."
*The hag smiles, showing a toothy grin "Tell me anyway, son."
"O... Okay. My Pa left us a few years back. He said it was to find some riches for me and Ma. He was always looking out for us, but I... I never saw him again..."
"That left just me and Ma to fend for ourselves. Oh, how Ma looked after me. She would always send me off to do things. But eventually she decided she wasn't able to take care of me anymore, I guess."
"She sent me off one last time. 'Go, get us fame and fortune, boy. Make a name for yourself.' Were her last words to me, before I left. So I wandered, trying to find some place that would take me in."
"Now I'm here, and that's about it."
*The hag considers this for a moment "Good, go now, son. We may meet again, or we may not. Only time will tell what is in store for you."
*Ned stands and turns to leave "Okay then"
*Once Ned is outside the tent, he pauses for a moment and turns around "say, do you kn-" he sees the tent is gone.
"Well, okay then" Ned leaves.
