A pleasant childhood, that’s how we can qualify Sage’s time in Elvenesse - if we exclude the harassment - until she decided to leave the house and create her own path in life. Since the day she was born under an aspen tree in the middle of the forest to the day she left to build her own dreams, Sage lived in a treehouse by the Elvenesse border with her father, Lonnwë, and her mother, Sylvanna, as well as her younger sister, Lavender. Her parents met through arranged matters between her two grand-mothers who were friends and wanted to see Lonnwë, who was always brooding here and there, and Sylvanna, that dreamy and naive young scatterbrain, to fly from the nest and finally leave the house! The association was quite peculiar since Lonnwë was a quite somber dark elf and Sylvanna such a golden wood elf ... but it was truly love at first sight, like the moon who finally found their sun.
Sage has lived a life with a loving and well-knit family. They always made sure to have each other's back and would spend several days a month together to reinforce their bond. Her parents were always loving and where her father would teach her and her sister to defend themselves and fight, her mother would show them how to hunt and forage. One of her parents' good friend and distant neighbor, Ilonna, would come and teach them how to write and read as well as furthered her mother’s teaching on foraging and the concoctions of plants and cataplasms. Unfortunately, by the time they got to that kind of teaching, her sister would be more interested in friends and more-than-friends to sit still and learn. She had always been less studious and more hyperactive. Sage still managed to have a few close friends like Olwenn, who was her best friend in the entire world and his friend Elanna who was so gentle and kind.
Sage on the other hand was really passionate about nature and plants and everything her surroundings had to offer. She felt like she really had found her way as she made all kinds of preparations for their neighbors and only wanted to further her little business. Ilonna managed to introduce her to the most basic knowledge of a herborist like how the blissfoil was a great pain reliever, how tippen's root effects helped the blood stop and how aqua nymph healed the scars. She had used them all to soothe the neighbor's aches and inconveniences, but she needed more.
As Lavender and Sage grew older, they spent more and more time out of the family home to build their own, but never forgot the feeling of blissfulness whenever they came back to the headquarters of the Tar’Lær family.
The boat ride had made her a bit queasy. No, definetly queasy. As she set foot on the quay, her eyes went wide. Sage was ready to begin her thriftshopping dream as a gentleman, who stood out incredibly in the mish-mash of colours and people around them, approached her to wish her welcome. What he then asked was ... odd. Not in the sense that is was really out of place, just that it felt peculiar to be asked all those questions by a complete stranger.
- Thank ... you?, she arched an eyebrow.
Sage eyed the man from head to toes.
- To be honest with you good sir, I am not sure I feel enclined to tell you about what my goals are ... The only thing I know right now is that I can't wait to stop being nauseous so I can taste some hearty local food! Also, I really crave a good tea ...
The young elf bowed her head to the man as she began her adventure in the bazaar and in the new city she was about to discover. The man was then swallowed by the crowd and, with a nervous laugh, she continued on her way.
