Whether it was the biting salt of the sea overwhelming her senses, or the unfamiliar architecture of the towering buildings, Glynnii Taevas couldn't help but stare in awe at the city before her. To say she was nervous would be greatly undermining her current emotions, a jumble of intimidation, curiosity, but mostly excitement as she gazed at the melting pot before her. Vibrant colors arranged in sequences unfamiliar to her and her homeland, the smells of enticing foreign foods, and the bustling folks who hailed from far and wide conversing with one another with ease. Suddenly her collection of thoughts rushing to a stop as she felt someone shove past her, and she realized she was blocking the path off the ship. Flustered, she muttered embarrassed apologies before making her way to the main market stationed in front of the port, before she was stopped by a gentleman and a smile with the kindness that she craved. Pleased, the Wood Elf cheerfully acknowledged the man, "I thank you for your greetings! I am in search for knowledge, because, you see, I aspire to be a healer. Would you happen to know where I should start?"

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is when your character that you are roleplaying with has knowledge that they are not supposed to know. In this case, you (yourself in the real world) are making your in-game character have information from real life that determines the actions of your character. An example of metagaming: let's say a villain you didn't know was plotting a scheme, but before they were able to execute their plan, your character is able to figure out what they were planning even though you had no knowledge of their plan at all.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is when you are making your character have every advantage in winning a fight, or having a very unfair advantage in certain situations, so much that those actions are considered god-like in order for you to win. An example of powergaming: when you start off as a novice swordsman but was able to defeat the strongest knight in the kingdom with one swing of your sword.
