You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

There is a silence as he lets the question linger, both contemplating his answer, and the situation he find himself in. After the silence settles, he speaks up. "You seem to know me, if by chance you don't know my name, I am Ødger Beiflad." There is a slight pause as he tries to gauge the extent of the hags insight. "I come from Øsgården, a costal village in the realm of Vedran. My folk and I lived a simple life." There is another pause, almost as if the memories of home drag him out of the conversation, until he continues with little disruption to the conversation at hand. "Yes, we lived a simple life, my father was a farmer or a fisherman depending on the season, while my mother was the village tailor. I spent my childhood exploring the woods near the farm, and helping my father in his work, I also learned the trait of shipbuilding from my father, as he had learned from his father before that. My sister tended to stay by our mother, but she also helped me and my father from time to time." With those last words his speech slows a bit, a saddened look dawns upon him as he again pauses, this time for a bit longer, breaking the silence with a- "Sigh. I still wish I was there, but in my late teenage years the weather got colder, and the realm got poorer. As people began to suffer, we decided to depart with our ships for greener pastures. It was the storms that took him." His expression darkens, the tone before this had been shifting, as if he only now was finally sure upon which emotion he would fasten himself to to continue the story. "I saw him get dragged down, I swear by something, but I am unsure. As for my mother and sister, our boats got separated." There is a longer pause as he takes time to collect himself, returning to a more neutral facial expression, as the storm of emotions calms. "I have been looking for them, but also a chance to settle down, and once again find that peace I once had. And through this quest I ended up here in this town. I hope that will suffice." The story seemed to take a bit out of him, as it is clear he haves not told this many times, as the general sadness fades to annoyance. "Now, who are you to ask my story anyhow Hag?"
