You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Letting out a small sigh, the short figure walks over to the cushion and drops down onto it with a "Hmph" before speaking. "If you've been expecting me I'm sure you know well enough that I was lost, with my beard soaked in the stink of this place, looking for the band of yrokk- er I mean humans, who have offered me contract work. If I didn't need the coin for my experiments I would have long ago given up the search."
He the pauses for a moment looking about still uncomfortable at the old hag's question. "..."
Finally he bursts out, "Fine I know that's not what you mean, my experiments are just an excuse for travel. The halls of my fathers are wonderful, but these legs can move and I've still got many years in me. I've got to do something, and my father is an engineer so I've been taught skills enough to work, but I can't face them until I've made something of real worth. That's it. Nothing too sentimental. So can you help me?" He folds his arms to his chest and looks at the old woman expectantly.
