How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: It is when you use out of character information while still being in character.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is making your character too overpowered or forcing emotes on an opposing character: a good example would be character one kills character two in one hit.
    Status: Accepted

“They call me Vorstag. I sailed these seas a one or two times before and thought that me and my crew could use a pint o’ mead.” Vorstag is twitching and jolting and the man looks at him in some sort of horror. Vorstag says “Don’t worry you pollywog, just getting used to the land. Now can you point me in the direction of the nearest tavern.”

Character Name: Vorstag
Character Race: Human
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 32

Your application has been put on pending. The following changes must be made before you can be accepted:

  •  Your Powergaming Definition is on the right track, though it’s not quite there. Take another look at our Wiki’s definitions for help, and I recommend including an example so I can tell you fully understand.

  • Your Character Biography states that your character “saw little green men, lands as hot as fire, and even the odd sea creature tailing his ship.” I’m not quite sure what you mean by “little green men”. Also, knowledge like this should not be in your character bio; it should be gained through roleplay on the server.

  • Your Character Biography states that your character was a captain for mercenaries in the army of the Empire of Man. There are multiple problems with this claim. Firstly, the Empire of Man dissolved over fifty years ago in-game and your character is 32. Secondly, your character cannot have been captain of anything; prominent titles have to be earned through roleplay in-game. Lastly, proficiency in sword-fighting, sailing, and other such skills cannot go being the very basics.

  • Your Personality Traits/Quirks must be purely personality; don’t include anything that references your character’s physical disposition.

If you do not make these changes within 24 hours, your application will be denied. When you are finished, please message me on discord @amelica#8025 to let me know. If you don’t have a Discord, send me a forum message; please don’t be afraid to approach me with any questions that arise.

If you still need help, make sure to check the wiki! I also highly recommend that you join our discord and read through the New Player Hub to gain access to a plethora of important links and information.

/creq I have just been accepted and would like a Wilven Monk!

Also, when you first join, the bot that automatically whitelists you after the acceptance of your application may be down. If so, please go into the wandering soul channel (type #ws in the chat) and ask for a Community Team Member to accept you!

Next, I highly recommend that you join the main LotC discord using the invite link below. Also, please look through the New Player Hub by clicking the second link!

In addition, I recommend that you take a look at our Settlement Guides. The settlements that you may be interested in based on your character’s race are linked below.
