You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"..." silence at first as I stare at this strange woman I do not recognize her but then again after so long would I recognize anyone from my past, after a silent moment I take a seat and cough "AHEM, I have no story to tell, only one to continue writing.", 'i poke at the fire that suddenly appeared in front of me as a flame licks my hand I do not flinch but I stand at once, the mysterious woman gazes upon me with bright eyes much too bright for the dimness surrounding us. shes persistent I can see it in her eyes she will not let me be until I fulfill her question, I sigh once more and begin my tale "I grew up in a bustling city of which I do not know the name no family no friends just myself, for a while it was difficult to survive many tried to attack me but I always slipped through their grasps. I found a talent for fighting as I grew so did my awareness I was faster than others, stronger, and smarter but no amount of strength can truly overcome one's weakness, I was alone. because of this id claimed the name shadow is always there but disappears just as fast. I had no other name id never been given one so until that point I was called "child" or "boy" but never a proper name my story I guess you could say goes deep as the shadows around us" I take a breath after speaking so long this was the most id told anyone in years and as such a sense of unease was filling my chest, I look up to meet her gaze again and for just a moment see her bright green golden eyes shine a vibrant dark purple, the same purple that my black eyes become when I use my abilities. she smiles and thanks me for telling her my story I look away and when I return my gaze to reply she's gone without a trace.
