How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Using out-of-character knowledge for in-character gain. An example is learning a secret about another character, out-of-game, and then proceeding as if your character had learned it too.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Roleplaying in such a way that denies a counterpart a chance to respond to your action, ie. forcibly roleplaying their character for them. Bad: *shoves John, and he falls over*. Good: *forces his hand into John's shoulder, trying to push him over*
