    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Having outside knowledge that your character wouldn't know. An example of this is being shared via discord and being told of an event ingame which would not be told to me unless I was in-the game.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Using unrealistic actions to your advantage. Eg. If DanielX3s emoted: "Daniel Cuts off Richards arm in one swipe" A proper emote would be: "Daniel Attempts to hit Richards arm"

  • Please try your best to correct the Spelling & Grammar across your application before you submit any changes. It doesn’t need to be perfect but it’s best if your application is as easy to read and understand as possible. The main issue is that you swap from first person (referring to your character as ‘I’) to third person (referring to your character as ‘he’) midway through your character’s backstory.
  • Your Powergaming and Metagaming definitions are correct in essence but a little vague. Please add an example for each term. Remember you can refer to our wiki page on metagaming and powergaming for the server’s accepted definitions, just keep in mind that plagiarism is not tolerated.
  • You must include at least one valid server Lore Reference in your character biography (other than your character’s race, family, a date or one of the server’s maps). This lore reference could be something like the name of the city your character was born in, the religion they follow or an event such as a war that your character has lived through. Please fix this using the LotC Wiki.
  • Your response to the Roleplay Scenario needs some development. You have to describe at least one thing, such as the manner in which your character is speaking or an action. Look at the example scenario & question above on this page for a guide as to how this should look.

  • The example that you used in your Powergaming definition isn’t quite correct. Remember that powergaming is forcing an action on someone else. There are some good examples of this in our wiki page on metagaming and powergaming, just keep in mind not to plagiarise.
  • The Lore Reference that you’ve included in your character’s backstory isn’t plausible because, to my knowledge, the Country of Ayr existed more than a century ago in game, long before your character was born. Please search for places or events on the wiki that existed during the current map/continent that the server is set in, ‘Arcas’.
  • Your response to the Roleplay Scenario should be written in third person (e.g. using ‘he’ or ‘she’ rather than ‘I’) as this is what you are expected to use when roleplaying on the server. Make sure to check your grammar here as well.

  • Your need to write your character’s response to the Roleplay Scenario from a third person point of view (e.g. using ‘he’ or ‘she’ rather than ‘I’) as this is what you are expected to use when roleplaying on the server. Make sure to check your grammar here as well. Remember that on the server you need to show, not tell – don’t say that your character has been on a long walk, try and show that your character is exhausted and worn out instead. This could be through actions/physical description or through dialogue (your character might ask the man how close the nearest inn is, for example). At the moment you just say that he is flustered from a long walk, but you need to change this because your roleplay responses must only include things that would be outwardly observable, rather than stating things that can’t be observed from an outside perspective. An outside perspective would not be able to tell that your character has been on a long walk just from looking at him, for example, but they would be able to see/observe that he is tired.
