    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Meta-gaming is using out-of-character knowledge in-character. An example of meta-gaming would be seeing someone boast about something in the global and/or local out-of-character chat, and then immediately use that information against them in roleplay.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Power-gaming is making your character too powerful beyond realistic possibility. An example of power-gaming would be forcing an attack on someone without giving them the chance to respond.

Surprised to be greeted so suddenly by someone who appeared to be of higher status, potentially the gentry, Ronnard would instinctively put out his hand to shake the other man’s, opening his mouth to answer him afterwards. When he spoke, his voice would come out rather smoothly, speaking neither too slowly nor too quickly. 

 

“Ronnard, m’lord, a pleasure to meet you. I’ve come to seek a few of those things actually, as I suppose my higher place in society comes with wealth, doesn’t it?”

 

Ronnard would smile to the man, letting out a chuckle at his own remark, as to ensure the man understood he was just being witty.
