You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"Funny that you know my name...", you said in an uneasy tone. You began speaking softly, "My name is Dredwaen síl Ayethstir, bastard daughter of Cinrthir and Liandiel. My parents were not of the same Elven race, which led to me being given up to a Wood-Elf family within Amalthea. I was raised without knowledge of my true parents, however when I reached school age that changed." You'd sigh, but you've almost completely forgot about the old woman and why you were telling your story to begin with. You'd go on again, "My skin was fairer than those of my classmates, and when my guardians sat down with me and explained my true lineage, things started coming together in my head. However, it created so much inner turmoil that I tried confiding in a friend of mine, which led to my entire school figuring out my heritage. No longer was my pale skin a mutation of sorts, or a skin condition. It was not only a mark of me being a thoughtful mix of Wood-elf and High-elf blood, but a mark of me being a bastard." You paused and were still zoned out as you were speaking, staring into one of the floors corners. "Schooling was a stain on my life and doesn't bring back many fond memories. However despite this, I got through it and eventually became a hunter's apprentice", you'd say with an increasingly positive tone. You now spoke a bit more calmly, "Hunting is great. I get to avoid people and be around nature as long as I want. The forest feels more like home than the city ever did." "So I guess that's where I am n-!", you said before trailing off. You just remembered why you were telling a story and your eyes darted up to where the old woman used to be. She was gone, but you slowly continued your sentence, "..now."
