    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is utilizing any information that your RP character wouldn't know. For instance, somebody told you (outside of RP) where a certain artifact was, but your RP character has had no way of knowing that on his/her own.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is an act performed by a RP character that goes beyond his normal abilities. For instance, a barbarian wouldn't be able to cast master level spells, but does anyway.

It is fine that your character has studied magic, however, do understand that you will have to make a Magic Application (MA) at some point to actually roleplay using magic on the server. (This will require you to find a teacher of the magic you wish to learn and use!
