You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
In the sprawling city of Veridalia, nestled amidst the lush forests and majestic mountains, there lived a talented Hextech inventor named Markus Drisko. With a brilliant mind and a knack for creating ingenious devices, Markus had garnered admiration and respect from his fellow citizens. He was cherished for his contributions, which had improved the lives of many in Veridalia.
Markus's crowning achievement was a mechanical marvel known as the Arcane Aegis, a shield powered by Hextech crystals that could protect the city from any threat. Its creation marked the peak of Markus's fame, and he basked in the glory of being hailed as a hero.
However, fate took a cruel turn one fateful night. While celebrating his latest invention's success, Markus inadvertently found himself embroiled in a heated altercation with the king's arrogant and impulsive son, Prince Edmund. A minor disagreement escalated into a full-blown confrontation, leading to a tragic accident that cost the prince his life.
Markus was devastated by the unintended consequences of the altercation, but he knew that he could not escape the consequences of his actions. He was well aware that the king's wrath would be swift and unforgiving. As expected, the king demanded justice for the loss of his son, and Markus was branded a murderer.
In the dead of night, Markus was forced to flee Veridalia, his beloved home turned into a land of betrayal and sorrow. He sought refuge in the wild and untamed regions beyond the city's borders, knowing that he could never return. With only the Arcane Aegis and his wits to protect him, Markus lived a solitary life, haunted by the memory of the prince's death.
Living a nomadic life, Markus found himself here. In this tent, in this town, on this night. Seeking more than refuge, but purpose.. once again.
