    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: knowing things you shouldn't in character, such as meta knowledge of how to do magic, when your character cant even read

Read the scenario below this box and type out inside of this box how your character might respond. Your response must be at least four sentences long and include at least one action and at least one piece of dialogue surrounded by quotes. “Well my mother would say groceries, and my father, a good food and drink, yet I say a merry time and good companionship!” He speaks rather merrily. Zarai then tips his hat, “Would you like to grab a drink with me sir? and maybe tell a tale or two?” Zarai then sighs at the denial, but thanks the man as he goes on his merry way, sticking out like a sore thumb, quite the foreigner indeed.

  •  Your Powergaming Definition is on the right track, though it’s not quite there. Take another look at our Wiki’s definitions for help, and I recommend including an example so I can tell you fully understand.

  • Your Character Biography is missing some lore references! Please remember to include at least two! There are many things that you can reference including but not limited to existing settlements, wars, and religions. Here are some links that may help you find some!

  • Your Character Biography is a bit short; please include at least 10 sentences. If you don’t know what to add, I recommend thinking more about your character’s backstory. Here are some questions you can ask yourself: where are they from? What was their family like? In what situation did they grow up? How did they get where they are today?

  • Your Character Biography states that your character learned how to use the bow and dagger. Please specify that he only knew those skills to the most basic level – further knowledge is not allowed prior to joining the server. All such abilities must be developed through active roleplay. 

  • Your Skin is not up to LotC’s standards. Please take a look at our Skin Archive for references and free skins that you may use if you can’t find anything better.
