You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
"Oh, I just, uh…" you stutter, tensing up. You eye the crone, then back outside the tent. For a moment, the air thickens with anticipation, until… you decide to trust her and walk in thinking there is nothing you can loose anymore. "I am a woodland elf who was banished from their home... My family saw my face and said they didn't want me anymore. So now i am here alone with out much power to defend myself. I... I want to become stronger to prove them wrong!" The old crone sits there very quit reading his face from what she can make from the shadows. (I didn't know where else to put this but if my characters skin is not suitable tell me and im fine with changing it)

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: you have to limit yourself to make it fun for other people too if you keep that in mind you can think if something is goign to make it not fun for other people and decide against it and im assuming there is some kind of leveling system so you cant just choose to do whatever with the most broken spell at level 1
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: you can change the situation to what would be good for your character so it would screw over everyone else who would have had good luck naturally
