    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: I would politely react in a way that brings things back to a comfortable perspective. I had a friend in a D&D Rp once insist they shared a flashback with my character and wrote they put their hand on my character's shoulder. I replied that my character just slid his hand off his shoulder and asked if he was feeling alright - seemed to be staring off into space. Keep it flowing but don't reward it or do it
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: It breaks the immersion - there's an agreement that we are all here for the shared narrative. We should make an effort to consider what and how our character would reply to any given information or situation in game, not out of game (outside of like intentional rp)

You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
