You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Uhh.. well, I don't remember much, I've kinda blocked it out due to trauma but from what I can recall, I was about 6... I use to follow my step-father around while he worked, I'd do it every single day, until well... our village got attacked. People were dying, left and right.. I got struck on my shoulder, I blacked out from the blood loss. I woke up a few hours later with a medic tending to my wounds, ever since then I've set my mind on revenge, I've traveled a lot, I've fought a lot of battles, and I'm finally close to reaching my goal.

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: I myself would give them 2 warnings where if they do it once, I'll tell them to stop and rp properly, if they fail to listen and do it again I'll tell whoever is running the roleplay to either remove them or give them some type of punishment.
here is an example of Powergaming: Purpleaxis83, his character. Matthew has little to no combat ability. He gets put on a quest to kill a powerful opponent and yet he somehow defeats said enemy.

How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: It disrupts fair roleplay because it gives a person an unfair advantage over others, which ruins the fun.
here is an Example of metagaming: orkmander_2 goes on the wiki and finds out about dark magic then his character, Gordan suddenly knows how to use dark magic. Now Gordan can use said dark magic to defeat an entire army, which he couldn't beat before.
