You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
"I have come to this town for a purpose, and I think you know that..." He looks at the old woman with a curious glance.
"We need to clean up this mess of a town", he explained, "and build it up so that it becomes the great town it once was! We need to scare the evil away, and make sure it never returns. This town should be known as the safe, warm and dry, cozy place in this swamp." The old woman don't look too convinced.
"I think I can become the leader that this town needs. I came here to ask you for help, since I know that you are wize."
Mas hasn't got much of a response from the old hag, but now she raises an eyebrow.
"I think you want me to tell you my story first, so I will. I was born far from here, in an elvish land. Both my parents were simple doctors, healers, and I grew up helping them. I saw them save multiple lives. But they never tried to seek fame; they stayed in their village and they were appreciated there and there only. And I think I have got one characteristic from them; I also love helping people" He looks a bit thoughtful.
"But... now that I'm older I feel that going my parent's path is not right. I have a strong feeling of wrong and right, and I'm not afraid of being tough when it is needed. When I was 15 my village was attacked, and..." a tear goes down his cheek "few survived. I sucessfully fled, out in the forest. I tried to find my parents for days, then weeks, but to no luck. Since then I have felt as I have a very spread out future, like I will be doing a lot of various things. I have been travelling the world for a time now, and I heard about this town."
The old hag has been listening curiously this whole time.
"Everywhere I go, I am a nobody. No one knows who I am or cares about the small village I came from. I don't have much money either; but sometimes I try to buy things in one city and sell them in the next. I rarely makes a lot of profit. But since I got to hear about this town, I think saving it is my call. I think I can make a difference here. And I think you have expected someone like me..."
