    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: I always assume that if I have to ask it's probably too much. But if it's something I really want to do and think the other party would as well, I'd ask for permission first. I think that doing any sort of mary sue actions in a rp just makes it not fun for the other people involved.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: It takes a lot of the immersive feeling out of the roleplay and can ruin big surprises or lore drops, which is always a bummer

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”


"My story? You want to hear MY story? Nobody ever wants to hear my story!- where do I even begin?" I laugh to myself, slicking back my hair. Suddenly, I didn't mind the stale, mold scented air that surrounded the mysterious, swampy town.
