    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: To avoid powergaming in roleplay, respect others' agency by allowing their characters autonomy in decision-making, and ensure your character has realistic flaws and vulnerabilities to maintain a balanced and engaging narrative. Communicate with fellow roleplayers, adhere to established lore, and prioritize collaborative storytelling over dominating encounters for a fair and enjoyable experience.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming disrupts fair roleplay by allowing players to use out-of-character knowledge to influence in-game decisions, undermining the immersive and authentic nature of the story. It creates an unfair advantage, as characters may act on information their in-game counterparts wouldn't possess. This breaks the narrative flow and can lead to a less enjoyable and less genuine roleplaying experience for all participants.

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Example:

I lower myself onto the offered cushion, the dim light of the tent casting flickering shadows on my weathered face. With a nod of acknowledgment, I begin, "I come in search of the unknown, drawn to this dingy town by the call of fate. I am Bjorn Ironheart, a son of the North, my story woven in the tapestry of Viking legacy and the relentless pursuit of honor. What prophecy or tale has led you to expect me, old one? Share your wisdom, and let the threads of destiny unravel before us."

Hi there! As you can see, your app is almost ready! Just a few changes you need to make, but don’t worry - you are doing great!

  • Please make sure to include at least six sentences! If you’re stumped on what to add. I recommend saying where you are from, how was it growing up? Maybe talk about your parents? Ect.
  • Your Roleplay Scenario & Backstory states that you are (royalty/nobility/notable/well-known/ too wealthy), please remember you’ve been a background character up until this point. Once accepted, You’ll be the main character in your own story.
  • Your persona’s last name matches an already existing family. If you are joining the family, please provide a screenshot of the head of the family saying that you can join, or please give us the contact information so we can double check!
  • Please make sure to use actions in your backstory & roleplay scenario. This is just to ensure we know what you are doing!
  1. example They moved to lift the cloth door to walk into the tent
  • When talking about your character’s actions! Remember to use 3rd person!
  1. example He sat down, She looked around the room, they looked at the old hag and smiled
