You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
As she is bending down to sit at the cushion, she pulls out a quill, a small bottle of ink, and a scroll that has been scribbled with past conversations. Despite being deaf and muted, she have learned basic lip-reading since she was a child. 'Amara' is the first thing she writes down as she gestures her hand to her chest. 'I am muted and deaf since birth. If you want to say something to me, please write it down as my lip reading may not be fully accurate'. Looking up at the old woman but she does not say anything and smiles. 'I was born into the Vermilion family, known for our fiery red hair' she chuckled as she picks up some pieces of hair to show it off. 'Like many others, I am traveling to see the world and hopefully one day I can travel far beyond The Land of Aevos.' She continues to write. 'That is pretty much my story and by the way have you seen my parrot? He is grey with yellow cheeks. I have been told that he is quite noisy' She looks up with hopes of the old woman saying yes... but unfortunately, she shakes her head. 'Well then before start my great journey to explore the world, I must finish the great journey of finding meimei the parrot...'
