You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
*sighs* "its been a long year for me. I left everyone I knew behind to start fresh. This time... I would like to live a peaceful life somewhere pretty, maybe I'll run a farm, and hopefully make some friends, friends that wont die on me."

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Power gaining goes against what roleplay is all about, it is meant to be about building your story while weaving and intertwining with others just like you. If you act like you have all of this power and you can do whatever you want, that ruins the fun of roleplay for other players and might even disrupt the community and how they view roleplay as a whole. Knowing that will make you think carefully about the choices you make while playing.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming can heavily disrupt fair roleplay by ruining the fun/surprise of finding this information yourself, even if a friend tells you about a crazy thing that's going to happen in the near future, it is important to keep that information to yourself because technically, YOU have been told that information, not your character.
