    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Using knowledge I would know that my character would not have known. One example of this would be if my character was fighting a certain monster he had never seen or heard of before that I personally know is weak to fire, if he were to drop his weapon and pick up a lit torch to fight it that would be metagaming.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Doing something above a characters realistic level of power (a human child beating up an orc)

As Torbo straightened his robes he gave the gentleman a look of annoyance "Moneh". He straightened his face upon inspecting the gentleman's fine clothes and added "Ya wouldnt know where someone could make some coin?"
