    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: I avoid it by always making things I do be realistic and not trying to act like I am over a gods level.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: It disrupts it by making the roleplay not a good roleplay and ruining the experience of other players.

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
 

I am from a Noble family up north, and why I came here? It was for you old hag, I came here because I herd about a lady that could teach me more magic. I herd you are a very strong magic user so will you teach me more magic?
