Michael Istaf can’t remember much of his youth. Initially raised in the capital of Adria, Michael enjoyed venturing out into the farmlands, and climbing the trees outside of the city walls.
One evening Michael was enjoying his usual antics of climbing trees close to the roads when he could overhear men arguing below. The argument grew louder, and as Michael edged closer to see the commotion the men came into view. Three men in bandannas surrounded a citizen of the city - they were quite clearly bandits.
Realizing what he was witnessing, Michael began to back-off to prevent any possibility of being seen. Upon maneuvering, Michael lost his footing, and fell on to the road below. Michael hit his head badly, and was knocked unconscious.
Approximately three days later Michael awoke, disoriented and confused. He was no longer in known territory, and he had no recollection of past events, his memory had completely vanquished. The only thing he knew was his name, and that was only because he would carry a journal everywhere he went.
What Michael did not realize, is that the bandits had taken him back to their camp, and nursed him back to health.
Michael spent the next 6 years learning the ways of a bandit. He was trained in both combat, and stealth.
Michael was now 18 years old, and had been participating in illegal activities for as long as he could remember. However, something had changed for Michael. He no longer wished to participate in these activities, he began to learn right from wrong.
He had felt this way for several months, until finally Michael decided that he wanted a change in his life, and one night departed from the group of bandits that he once called his family.
With no purpose or sense of direction, Michael headed for Renatus in search of a better life.
