Owen Istaf the brothers of many other brothers who bare the Istaf name. A lowborn sellsword who was an amateur stonemason. His father and mother are unknown but his family of brothers and sisters are massive, spanning thirty strong.
Owen was born in the city of Helena and was a peddler, thief and stonemason for the largest part of his childhood. When he came of age, his days of thievery and peddling had resulted in quite a few fights and he was forced to learn to fight. He went to the city of Reza to partake in a few friendly skirmishes to improve his combat skill, but was injured and took a blow to the head which blinded his left eye.
