Lost at sea I find drifted ashore. The tall daggered mountains scrape the golden sands of an endless eroded beach. All I search for is hope and all I hear... is whispers. A lost soul washed up. The year is 1645 the streets of Markev were silent, shades covering the windows and as the curtains were drawn the settling presence of the endless stars danced in the reflection of the window. With my rustic bow in my left hand clutched with withered arrows, many who will meet their fates in the chest of my enemies. My right hand warm with the holding of my friend, my partner... My lover. She meant more than this realm could ever give me, a sun beyond stars. A lover beyond women, but we had to run away. The Butcher Boys (https://wikia.lordofthecraft.net/index.php?title=Notable_Villains), the notorious gang I always have and would work for. But today was the last, as we strode down the empty avenue the faint light of torches galloped down the street, we turn around. “Lucy Swindle and Guildbert Kaven, what you two doing out at this time of night”. We turn choking on sentences with no start or end, as the suspicion raised so did our hearts. Suddenly, the guards interrupt the thin, gruelling silence with a question. The question that ended the life and chance we dreamt of, “are you running away?” Lucy, clutched my hand and dragged me through the cobblestone road. The roar of shouting began as we ran, the life we wanted was now down to the seconds we had left. As I shoot a look to my right Lucy dropped, an arrow in her back rusted chest plate. Left the grieving mark of death implanted into her spine, she laid rested on the floor. Her eyes bloodshot as she began to spit blood and the cobblestone painted red from her cold body. She stared at me as I looked into deep crystal blue eyes an ocean heavy, my hands ghost white from holding her hand so tight. The lower inaudible whisper rattled through my body as with in the peep of her last breath she concluded “run, while you still have” her bloody cough shot onto the grimy floor as she looked into my eyes. “Time. *Cough* I... I love yo-“ her last words cut of with the misery of death. Something broke that day... if it was my heart, my soul or just me, she was the girl I saw on the beach. The girl who whispered sweet sombre into your life. Now me, the man with the broken heart and melted soul. I hear the rush of arrows whistle past my ear. I turn with shaking hands and a lost soul, I fire an arrow planting the essence of death into one of my comrades. I climb onto the roof of clayed built structure as the rush of adrenaline powered me through my stiff cold legs, it was tense as daggers and arrows landed all over the roof top as every arrow that missed the roof gave way. I see it, the boat me and Lucy were striding to. The boat we had hand crafted and built our selves, with no destination in mind but from there. Jumped into the water and shredded the armour I had always cursed my life and lover and rose, reborn into a life of freedom. The boat ladder crumbled under my weight as I scurried up the ladder, I drew the sails and headed for sea... The open waters dug deep with trenches and filled with fish. CRACK, the storm roared with excitement to meet the end of another fellow sailor. I turn to the sky as the obnoxiously massive storm hit me with the winds of helms. I turn to the sails as the boom poll punched me in the chest I fell into the restless sea. I drifted into the shallow waters of Haense. The tall daggered mountains scrape the golden sands of the endless eroded beach. All I search for is hope and all I hear is whispers. A lost soul washed up. I turn as the night moon falls over the ocean and the sun rises as a new day begins, of all the time I had the countless minutes, hours, days, months and years I look to find everything gone. Everything I built crashing down with the fall of my lover. Now nearing a century later and I still think of her. I wonder when I will meet her above next.
