MC Item description (the exact description that will be used for the MC item if this MArt is accepted):

[The MArt will be represented in game with a build and a key will be needed to activate the smogger. It will be represented by a named iron nugget.]

    Reinmaren Landkreuzer Key

“But he hath created too the first men, and instilled in our hearts the means of invention, and the forest grove and city market are equal in worldly vulgarity. ” - Epistle to the Elves on the Presence of GOD, Scroll of Spirit

A small iron key attached to a necklace chain that is intended to activate a Reinmaren Landkreuzer weaponized smogger from its control panel. On two teeth protruding from the key’s shaft are an array of key wards making a complex custom key of original make. A Waldenian Black Eagle is engraved on the key’s handle.

    Effect(s) of the Artifact:

The Reinmaren Landkreuzer is a product of Sintel’s Smoggers, a dual caterpillar track driven vehicle that has been armed with a single cannon facing its bow. Taking inspiration from the Grand Boar, the cannon mounted on the Reinmaren Landkreuzer is a breech loading cannon allowing for the cannon to be loaded within the safety of the smogger (these cannons will follow the same emote count as their muzzle loaded variant). Notably this cannon would risk backfiring if fired while the smogger was in movement and thus would require the machine to be halted to a stop before it could be safely fired.

The Reinmaren Landkreuzer would find it difficult to impossible to traverse muddy/wet terrains including bogs, swamps and terrains where friction with its caterpillar tracks is minimal, limiting it to at maximum 2 blocks of movement with high potential of getting stuck. The Reinmaren Landkreuzer is also limited in its ascension, at most being able to ascend two block ascensions. What it lacks in size and inability to scale steep ascensions it makes up for in its overall speed. In the first emote of moving, the Reinmaren Landkreuzer is limited to 6 blocks of movement (a moderate running pace) and each consecutive emote of movement allows for the smogger to accelerate to a total of 8 blocks of movement (or the equivalent of a horse’s speed in CRP). The Reinmaren Landkreuzer may also make 180 degree turns in place of movement in one emote turn through the use of its clutch braking system of slowing down one side of caterpillar tracks to allow the machine to turn at the cost of speed - resetting the machine back to a first emote movement speed of 6 blocks.

    Red Lines of the Artifact:

    Movement Redlines:

    • The Reinmaren Landkreuzer moves at two paces, beginning at 6 blocks of movement (a moderate running pace) with an acceleration up to 8 blocks of movement (a horse’s speed) for any continuous uninterrupted movement while on neutral to favorable terrain (open, solid land of low incline).

    • The Reinmaren Landkreuzer would be either slowed to a crawl of 2 blocks of movement (a slow walk pace) to a complete halt when in unfavorable terrain such as swamps, bogs and muddy terrain, requiring it to be dug out from the outside. Such terrain should generally be avoided.

    • The Reinmaren Landkreuzer is capable of making up to 180 degree turns in place of proper movement at the cost of its acceleration and resetting it to the initial first emote movement speed of 6 blocks.

    • The Reinmaren Landkreuzer is capable of ascensions of up to two blocks (one block shy of a horse jump) when going up elevated terrain.

    • A crow’s nest for a navigator to peak out from the top of the tank allows for someone to guide the pilot of the smogger on where to go.

    Smoggers Redlines:

    • The Reinmaren Landkreuzer is activated by a custom key inserted into the ignition of the control panel with an array of levers and buttons someone whose been properly trained to operate the machine could pilot.

    • In order to properly repair the The Reinmaren Landkreuzer, it requires a trained smogger engineer.

    • The Reinmaren Landkreuzer operates on a 6 meter sized gear stomach (6 blocks) and will need a total of 3 liters of red oil to operate consistently for 2 ooc days.

    • The gear stomach solely fuels the caterpillar tracks movement beneath the smogger machine and through the control panel, two levers may be operated to adjust the movement of the Reinmaren Landkreuzer with levers being pulled back to slow down or halt their respective track side.

    • Any voidal connection made within a 5x5 area of the gear stomach would cause it to jam, ceasing the movement of the machine until it is unjammed by an engineer.

    • The smogger is controlled by a control panel located on the inside of the smogger machine. Exhaust pipes dispelling smog from the gear stomach are located on the outside.

    Weaponization Redlines:

    • One breech loading cannon is aimed on the bow of the Reinmaren Landkreuzer which is loaded from the rear side of the cannon instead of the muzzle. The cannon must be manually loaded with at least three people with 5 emotes total of loading and firing it.

    • The cannon may only be fired properly while the Reinmaren Landkreuzer is stationary and not moving, or risk damaging the cannon, the machine and the cannon crew.

    • Cannons can fire up to 60 meters (shout range) or at the ET’s discretion.

    • The Reinmaren Landkreuzer is able to shoot either straight ahead of it or upwards at a forty five degree angle.

The cannon is loaded and fired independently following the redlines of cannons in the techlock with a slight tweak due to the use of breechloaders instead of muzzleloader cannons.

    1. A worm rod is used to clear the cannon’s rear and barrel of any refuse and is angled and plunged into it repeatedly. If fired prior, a wet sponge should be plunged in after removing residue to avoid preemptively sparking the powder.

    2. The black powder is poured into the ignition chamber and a quick match fuse is secured into place.

    3. The clearly stated ammunition is loaded through the rear of the cannon and the breech is secured and locked.

    4. The fuse is ignited and the cannon is aimed.

    5. The cannon is fired with a thunderous boom!

Explanation of the effect(s) (i.e. how it does what it does - slight bending of magic lore is allowed):

The Reinmaren Landkreuzer functions off of burning through the red oil its gearstomach is fed which releases a byproduct of smog through its exhaust pipes. The kinetic force output by the gear stomach converting the red oil allows for simple motions to be completed within the inner gearwork of the machine allowing for the caterpillar tracks to move forward or backwards. These commands are given by a pilot through their access to a control panel within the machine.

The cannon the smogger is armed with is a breech loading cannon that requires an altered set of actions to operate but ultimately amount to the same emote count as muzzle loaded cannons in CRP.

Number of duplicates of this Artifact:

There are TWO Reinmaren Landkreuzers that may be started with a total of THREE KEYS of the same kind. They will respectively take the names of Theoderic's Triumph and Gelimar’s Gale.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Animii Crafting

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Animii Crafting is the practice of combining clockwork and alchemy to produce non-magical constructs called automatons. Automaton creations can range from prosthetics, to mounts, to full humanoids. While different automatons may differ in their creation, they all have two major things in common: gear hearts, and alchemical lifeblood. Lifeblood is meant to simulate real blood for automatons, and it powers necessary functions and modules that might be part of a construct. For example, lifeblood could power the motor functions of an Animii prosthetic. For a proper humanoid construct, the lifeblood might be powering the visual, auditory, sight, and intelligence modules. Notably, alchemical lifeblood does not naturally clot. Without quick repair work, an automaton would quickly bleed out.

Gear hearts are the other necessary component for automaton creations. Much like a regular heart, a gear heart pumps lifeblood throughout the automaton. This is what carries the lifeblood to the necessary modules of the construct and actually allows it to perform its function. In addition to lifeblood and gear hearts, automatons often require other, more mundane gears and tubes that form the rest of the framework for the construct. These are often up to the crafter’s discretion and depends on what is being crafted. Automatons also have the ability to overclock, which allows them to pump lifeblood through their bodies more quickly to gain strength and speed. However, this increase should only be used for a short time, as overclocking strains the gear heart and tubes carrying the lifeblood, causing internal damage to the construct.

Lastly, a more advanced form of Animii Crafting is the creation of machine spirits. Machine Spirits are mostly similar to normal automatons, but instead captures a person’s soul within the body. This requires a specialized gear heart inlaid with gold, as well as mixing the person’s blood with the alchemical lifeblood. More husks - empty automaton bodies - may be created for the soul to jump into upon death of the current body. However, if a machine spirit is killed without having any backup husks, they will finally suffer true death.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

I listed the various subsections above, but to summarize:

Animii Crafters can make clockwork prosthetics to replace things like limbs to eyes.

They can make full mechanical automatons that range from small animals to mounts to functional humanoids. Humanoid automatons require a CA to be played.

They can make machine spirits that can capture a person's soul and allow them to live on after death.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

[!] Siegfried watches the student piece together the allotted bone-like metal pieces that he had placed in a crate beside the workbench, eventually forming the skeletal structure of an arm.

“Good. Now, you understand how blood flows throughout the body, yes? You’ll want to place the gear heart in a spacious area, perhaps the upper arm, just below the shoulder.” He points to the respective location.

“This will make it easier to attach the tubing for the lifeblood. You need to make sure the heart is able to pump the blood down to the various gears in the arm, then pump it back up into the heart to finish the cycle. Two paths, like veins and arteries.” He then steps back. “Go ahead and try. I’ll guide you along if you mess up.”

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

The first time, I would be patient and explain what the student did wrong and give my own example emote of how to fix it. If I eventually deem the student to be irresponsible if powergaming continues, I would escalate to LT or just remove them from my TA.

  5. Siegfried Barclay was amongst the first who saw Leon's bloodied horse reach Neu Brandthof. Without his brother atop it, he understood the graveness of the situation. He gritted his teeth, and let out a huff, awaiting for the body to be delivered "Say hello to Vater for me."

He then left to find a private place with tears falling from his eyes.

  6. Siegfried Barclay stood quietly in the moot hall, watching as his brother officially abdicated from the throne. He felt a mix of emotions as he watched this historic moment unfold before him.

As he gazed upon his brother, memories of their time together as leaders flooded his mind. He felt a pang of sadness, knowing that this chapter in their lives was coming to an end. Nostalgic feelings washed over him as he remembered the good times they had shared, and the challenges they had overcome together.

However, despite these wistful feelings, he also felt a sense of pride and happiness. His nephew, the new Duke, was taking the throne, and he knew that the young ruler had the potential to lead Minitz in a positive direction. He felt grateful for the opportunity to pass on the lessons he had learned during his time as Warchief, and excited to see what the future held for his nephew and the kingdom.

As the ceremony came to an end and the new Duke took his place on the throne, Siegfried couldn't help but smile. Despite the sadness he felt at his brother's abdication, he was filled with a sense of hope and excitement for what was to come. He knew that his brother was leaving Minitz in good hands, and that he would always be there to support and guide his nephew as he navigated this new chapter in his life.

  7. Siegfried Barclay reminisced about how he lived with his kin, Teft Barclay, in a small village surrounded by vast forests and rolling hills. Teft was like a brother to Siegfried, and the two of them had mutual respect for each other.

The news reached Siegfried during the Moot of the Reinmaren. He was filled with anger and despair, for Teft was one of his kin.
