Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Wonks are creatures with isolationist tribal roots, though now, they’re most commonly found as “Reformed Wonks” who borrow heavily from descendant culture. This includes their buildings, common phrases, clothes, ideology, etc.  They may even go so far as to adapt a gender identity, though they’re an entirely asexual species. They value their land and simple communal means of living, largely preferring peaceful coexistence to the violence of those around them. 

Physically, they strongly resemble a large, bipedal frog or toad. Their strength is generally equal to that of a standard human, but they have difficulty putting on additional fat or muscle. Their means of reproduction is solely asexual, Wonks able to sprout eggs from their backs at one point of their life. They begin as large tadpoles, and grow fully physically mature at 5 years. Much like the average frog or toad, they sport long tongues that are able to travel about an arm’s length (1 block). Their semi-aquatic nature allows them to breathe (as long as their mouth is closed) and see clearly underwater, their skin filtering air from the water around them, and transparent eyelids protecting vision. They take trips to water to ensure that their skin is clean and hydrated. They are capable of surviving to about 120 years, though they grow more and more waterbound as their skin dries with age. Past 120, they will perish unless subjected to a life permanently submerged.

Frog and Toad Wonks have some physical distinctions. Frogs tend to have more brighter, yellow/green, sticky skin. Their builds are taller (4’6” to 5’0”) and thinner. Toads are dryer and rougher to the touch, sporting short (4’1” to 4’7”) and stout builds, and duller, warm skin coloration. 

Their unusual form sports a variety of weaknesses. They grow ill very easily in the cold, their inferior souls limit them from learning a number of magics, and they need to bathe frequently--if they don’t, their secretions will render them slightly flammable.
