A Znagah--an Orcish one. A weakling, bested by an inferior race and made their servant. Escaping the shackles was Dumag’s long-awaited first step--the next steps, he’s still trying to wrap his head around. Formerly a member of a small tribe of miners based in Krugmar--their spiritual ancestor a blacksmith by the name of Gragna--Dumag was 10 years of age when his mining outpost was ambushed--in an act of humiliating role-reversal, he was captured and enslaved by a human raiding party, shipped away, and made to serve in mines for the next fifteen years. Numerous attempts at rebellion were met with dead kin and fresh scars. After finding an unchecked tunnel that lead to safety, an ecstatic Dumag escaped into the night. He survived his first few years of freedom as a low-rent mercenary, an occasional jackpot quest resulting in enough coin for him to blow on spiritual offerings and silver to adorn his figure. He continued to live a life of greed and unabashed selfishness, the orc distancing himself from kin and holding close material possessions. It took time for the isolation from his childhood kin and utter dishonor of his past to truly upset him. While just as bloodlusted as an average orc, he had limited interest in raids and wasn’t invested in universal racial conquest. He instead valued biding his time--and finding a precise opportunity to enact revenge on those who wronged him. Until that time, he continued to serve others for the right price. An Elven scholar offered good enough coin, conscripting him to be a bodyguard on what he advised was a dangerous, but worthwhile mission.
