The Gryf Family was one of the many who followed Alvar I to found Dunharrow with Renwik only being a young boy at the time. The Gryf’s were once a large and proud family but after the War of the Two Emperors and the Subsequent deaths of the two eldest Gryf sons during the Battle of Leuven, Renwik and his father were the last of their family. Renwik’s father, Vallon, was a humble trader and attempted to give his son the best life he could. Renwik never knew his mother and his father didn’t enjoy talking about her, all that Renwik knew was that she died when he was very young and the following years were extremely hard on his father. Vallon was a very hardworking man and every effort in his life was made in order to give Renwik happy and easy life. Unfortunately for “Ren” as he likes to be called, his father caught a horrible flu from one of his customers that would plummet his health extremely quickly. By the time Ren had gathered enough coin to pay for treatment by begging in the Lower District, it was too late. Now orphaned as a young boy and with no valuable skills, Renwik had to resort to thievery and mischief for many years to survive. As Ren got older he began to realize the errors of his ways and attempted to look for honest work throughout Dunharrow and landed odd jobs as a laborer. Now a young man, Ren hopes that he can return to an honest life and try to rebuild the Gryf family.
